2008 Hexamer Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (8/2/2015)
I had a bottle back in January, and liked it, but was not wowed by it. The bottle last night was truly outstanding. Not too much sweetness and excellent acidity made for a lovely balance. The difference with this bottle was the integrated complexity. Fruit, herb, and even a hint of mint were all swirling together in the glass, making a great palate presence that carried all the way through a very long finish. I always like Hexamer, but this bottle took it to another level.
