  • 2011 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaumonts - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru (8/1/2015)
    Expressive aromatics of pine needle sap, camphor, sandalwood and red fruits. There’s a bit of spritz on the palate. It doesn’t have the depth of a recent '13 but is detailed and finishes with tart berry freshness. With air you get some sarsaparilla, and Chinese five spice powder action. It started off looking a little skinny but certainly put on some mid-palate pud in the glass.

Just opened a suchot from 11! Will report back!

Note is very similar to yours. Spitz on the palate. Lots of crunchy cranberry. Just a touch of the suchot spice. Mostly bright fruit

I love both the Beaumonts and Suchots from 11. They take a little moment to put on weight but the bright fruit is lovely.

Brought a suchots '11 to my buddy’s 50th several months ago. Many happy campers.

There’s a coolness to the Beaumonts with some floral spice that may be one man’s green. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
