TN: 1995 Rockland Petite Sirah (USA, California, Napa Valley)

Dark red in color with a lighter red rim, so no real signs of advanced ageing. The nose is a bit leathery. The palate is dominated by dark fruits with nice acid and a good tannic structure. The wine comes off like a Cabernet Sauvignon in strength. It’s really nice for a 20-year-old wine. There’s at least 10 years of life left on this. (90 pts.)

Nice to see a note on this. I drank mine about 10 years ago. Whatever happened to them (the winery)? I only saw them for a few years and then they were gone.

Where is Alan Bree? He would know! I have a bunch of this in the cellar. Always delivers joy, more so than Ridge York Creek. Dick Aubert was behind this project. Thats all I recall.
