1976 Clos de Nouys - Vouvray Sec

Another warm evening in London, so I fancied a mature dry white with some freshness. I chose this bottle from 1976, where some European countries enjoyed a very warm summer. The bottle is in good condition and the cork came out in one piece. A quite deep golden clear colour. The nose hints at a dry marmalade with hints of baked apple pie. The mouthfeel is dry yet carries a certain concentration with it. It ambles effortlessly and pleasurably across my tongue and fades gently. A solid effort, not hugely complex but satisfying.
