2013 Maison L'Envoye Two Messengers Pinot Noir

I knew nothing about this producer but the label caught my attention and it was $29, so what the heck.

I like Oregon Pinot Noir but I LOVED this wine. Smells dank and autumnal just like a nicely aged red burgundy and just eminently gulpable, yet complex. Not a rough edge to be found, I guess you could hang onto bottles to see what happens but why would you wait?

“Maison L’Envoye” sounds like just like an Oregon wine, too.

Just teasing, of course. Your note makes it sound like something I’d like to try.

Thanks for the note Peter. I have been curious about this wine. I will have to try their stuff. They make wine burgundy and Beaujolais as well.

I also thought this wine was very good from a recent tasting. Maison L’Envoye is Mark Tarlov’s new venture (formerly of Evening Land). Bad name and confusing range, but the wine is good.

Exactly. Thought it would be passable for pinot at best, but it was quite the drink.
