I am sure at some point I’ll try most of these wines with lamb, etc … but I am always curious which member here I have a similar pallet with, and so, I have a few choices for Grilled Lamb chops with home fries for tonight. Which bottle would you pick?
2010 Château Moya
2010 Antinori Villa Antinori Toscana IGT (loved it with pizza)
2010 Kendall-Jackson Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Réserve
2010 Bodega Colomé Malbec Estate
2010 J.L. Chave Sélection St. Joseph Offerus
2009 Boutari Naoussa
I’ll start with a caveat that I only know 3 of your choices.
The Antinori is simply that, a pizza wine, and a red-sauced pasta wine too, but may not have the heft to go with the lamb.
The 2 wines that I would choose between would be the Kendall-Jackson Cab and the Chave St. Joseph. I’ll go with the Chave, primarily because my taste runs relatively more towards the French, and I’ve had Chave’s St. Joseph in various cuvees and vintages, and I’m convinced that they go well with roast/grilled red meat.
