Since it is mailer season:
2012: This is the eager companion with ripe grapefruit to offer. Fantastic and spot on acidity. Long, lingering acid finish. Delish.
2011: the slightly older, more sophisticated sister. You wish you didn’t know the difference, but you do. A bit more woodiness and slight oak, if that’s appropriate. Longer and more languorous finish. More complex flavors. Less straight up citrus, but not yet butterscotch or those other flavors. Almost like there is a touch of grapefruit bitters vs. straight up citrus. Did I mention the longer finish?
The 2011 was a global great experience, the 2012 was reaching up under a too young wine’s shirt.
Both are going to break hearts, and have structure to die for.
They should have a reality show.
Thumbs up for easy to buy wines that in just 2 vintages tell you the past and future.
(Tasted two wines with dinner, so PUI.)
