How Many Bottles Of Wine Do You Buy Yearly?

I was looking at my inventory spreadsheet during the snow storm, I was surprised by how my total amount of bottles is creeping up. I’ve been a pretty heavy buyer of CA 2012 & 2013. Seems like I bought around 150 last year and I’m on track to surpass that this year. A lot of it is Turley & Carlisle Zin. About 2 cases for each the last few years. How many bottles on average do you buy yearly?

Last year was 343. The plan is to cut that in half this year. Running out of room.

Last two years it has been 230 and 239. Need to slow down this year.

300-400. Causes and ever increasing inventory. 7-8 years until retirement when that number will have to come way down, and so will inventory.

Around 400 per year. Figure I consume around 350 bottles per year (me, wife, entertainment - not solo!), so adding about a net 50 per year to my cellar.

My issue is I’m drinking way less so the inventory is going up quickly. I only get a chance to open something on the weekends so 1or 2 bottles max a week

Maybe 250-300 last year with around 100 for same year consumption. I’m roughly 90 bottles into 2015 so screw my plan to dial it back.

For the last five years it has averaged about 500 bottles a year. During that time there were two weddings and ten company parties, so eliminating those it averaged about 400.yr.
As a result, the cellar is overflowing into other rooms and locations. Just when the tide was turning, BerserkerDay hit.

351 last year not counting some restaurant purchases a a handful of dinner at home wines I never logged into CT

196 bottles, 120 remaining. I consumed about 40% of what I purchased.

2012 -178 bottles, 58 remaining
2011 -266 bottles, 59 remaining
2010 -303 bottles, 41 remaining
2009 -223 bottles, 25 remaining

See a pattern? I drink the stuff. Collections are for collectors…

I think of it as inventory. It will be consumed.

179 last year, 134 in 2013. Vastly outpacing my consumption. New restrictions in place this year, but January is a tough month for austerity; so many mailers and sales.

460 bottles in 2014 and looking to cut that number in half this year. I’ve upgraded off site storage 2x in the past year. Need…a…cellar.

I’m under 50/yr last year and probably about the same this year.
