2012 Weingut Rings Freinsheim Spätburgunder

Holy cow this is a great bottle of wine. As fanatic as I am about all German white wines I have to admit the majority of Spätburgunders have never worked for me. They always have too much oak and try unsuccessfully to be Burgundy or are just silly expensive.

This on the other hand is fantastic. Open, aromatic and very complex. Slightest hit of funk, perfume and a touch of wood blend together with pristine fruit to create a beautiful aromatic profile. Delicious juicy pure fruit with a savory soy character.

And just $29.99 through Fass Selections. To get a Pinot of this quality from other regions it would easily be 2-3x the price but more importantly this type of wine is simply hard to find.
