TN: 2011 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Granges

Checked in on a young Baudry.

  • 2011 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Granges - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Chinon (11/12/2014)
Smells of tobacco leaf, green pepper, some celery. Red fruit and really lively acid streak right now. Puckering, drying, acid and tannin. More earth than fruit. A wine for fall weather and hearty foods. Needs time, but already interesting and certainly showing promise. Every time one of those “great drinkers for $20” questions arises, the answer should be Baudry.

Nice! I need to buy a case or two of this before it disappears from stores.

You and me both.
Thankfully, we’ve got a decent bit around here.
