Quite disappointed with this wine, I’m sure the vintage did not help. The fruit is just not there, it has tobacco notes and plums, but other than that it feels diluted from older vintages. The price is not bad at $47, but I would wait for the 2012 vintage.

In my experience, no. But that could change at any moment at the winery’s discretion.
I just opened a 2011 Freemark Abbey Napa merlot, which I picked up on a lark because it was on sale at the grocery store. Pretty good, actually. It reflects the cool vintage with more of a traditional / old-Napa type style.
