2002 Corton "Pougets" (Louis Jadot)

2002 Corton “Pougets” (Louis Jadot)
Youthful, medium-dark purple with an amber edge.
Rich, spicy, blackberry, face powder nose. REALLY NICE!
Firm, young, ferrous Corton fruit with a long minerally, ripely tannic, black licorice finish.
This can easily age and improve for another decade.
For now [92+ pts] with an upward side given time.

I’ve only had the 07 of this wine, about two years ago, when it was still much too young, and came away pretty impressed. Since then I’ve squirreled away a few bottles from several vintages - they pop up every so often at good pricing. Meadows is a fan, too, fwiw.

I’ve had this wine a couple of times (as well as a couple of other vintages of it); and agree that it has a long time to go.

Best,

N

Corton Pougets is one of my absolute favorite Jadot wines, and often a screaming deal.

Guys, guys…remember that Jadot sucks. Nothing worth drinking. Certainly nothing worth paying money for.
