"You should only make wines you love to drink..."
Time really flies - we just celebrated our 10th commercial harvest producing cabernet sauvignon wines under the Jean Edwards Cellars brand - thank you all for your support! We can honestly say the best is yet to come!
For those that don't know us, our small production is focused on cabernet sauvignon wines from premium vineyards and vineyard blocks. We are originally from NJ - left the corporate world behind - and now spend time on both coasts.
Our core wine offerings include a Napa Valley cabernet; a cabernet from Stagecoach Vineyard (single-vineyard designate from a block located in the Pritchard Hill Region); and a 100% cabernet (from mountain and valley floor fruit) that we named "74-41" after the coordinates of our east coast residence.
In 2014 we will introduce our new AVA-designated premium series of cabernets (with the 2011 vintage release). Our AVA wines will only be produced when special barrels/lots stand out so brilliantly from the rest, they warrant their own bottling.
We utilize the Michael Mondavi Family Winery for our production and our consulting winemaker, Kian Tavakoli, has been with us since 2004. Kian shares our vision - to produce the best wines possible from the best fruit sources while retaining a sense of place.
We are often asked "What's the Jean Edwards Cellars wine style?" Our wines are full-flavored yet not over the top -- wines you want to enjoy with a great meal and with good friends (but you'll want to keep the bottle at your end of the table).
We hope you'll try our wines and enjoy them for many years to come!
Cheers - Karen & John
